Это водный транспорт в основном вертикальном направлении, по сравнению с аллювизацией, горизонтальной проточной водой. Полученные осадки называются иллювиальными отложениями. Кусаны - это тип иллювиального осадка. Illuvium включает органическое вещество, силикатную глину и водные оксиды железа и алюминия. Иллюзионные отложения глины, оксидов и органических веществ накапливаются в недрах как отличительные почвенные горизонты, отнесенные к «горизонтам B» или «зоны иллювирования».
