Льюи тела являются аномальными агрегатами белка, которые развиваются внутри нервных клеток при болезни Паркинсона, деменции тела Леви и некоторых других расстройствах. Они идентифицируются под микроскопом, когда гистология выполняется на мозге. Льюи тела появляются как сферические массы, которые вытесняют другие элементы клетки. Двумя морфологическими типами являются классические тела Леви и корковые тела Леви. Классическое тело Леви представляет собой эозинофильное цитоплазматическое включение, состоящее из плотного сердечника, окруженного ореолом излучающих фибрилл длиной 10 нм, основной структурной составляющей которого является альфа-синуклеин.
