Полярность в международных отношениях - это любой из способов распространения власти в рамках международной системы. В нем описывается характер международной системы в любой данный период времени. Обычно выделяются четыре типа систем: униполярность, биполярность, триполярность и многополярность для четырех или более центров силы. Тип системы полностью зависит от распределения мощности и влияния состояний в регионе или во всем мире.
