போர்நிறுத்தம்
ஒரு போர் போர் ஒரு தற்காலிகமாக நிறுத்தப்படுவதாகும், அதில் ஒவ்வொரு பக்கமும் ஆக்கிரமிப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளை இடைநிறுத்தம் செய்வதற்கு ஒப்புக்கொள்கின்றன. போர் நிறுத்த உடன்படிக்கை ஒரு முறையான ஒப்பந்தத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக அறிவிக்கப்படலாம், ஆனால் எதிர்த்தரப்பு சக்திகளுக்கு இடையே ஒரு முறைசாரா புரிதலின் ஒரு பகுதியாக அவை அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன. போர்க்குணத்தை முடிவுக்கு கொண்டுவருவதற்கான ஒரு முறையான உடன்பாடும் உள்ளது.

The inspections started in 1991, right after the Gulf War. One of the conditions for the ceasefire was that Iraq had to do away with all of its weapons of mass destruction - biological, chemical and nuclear weapons and long-range missiles.
Iraq did not spontaneously opt for disarmament. They did it as part of a ceasefire, so they were forced to do it, otherwise the war might have gone on. So the motivation has been very different.
Finally, I am encouraged to note that the Security Council issued a statement today expressing its concern about the massive humanitarian crisis in Darfur and calling on all parties to the conflict to protect civilians and reach a ceasefire.
Together we can decrease the level of violence, raise awareness of our activities and save lives around the world. The impact of a day of global ceasefire and non-violence cannot be underestimated.
Hamas cannot make peace with the Israelis. That is against what their God tells them. It is impossible to make peace with infidels, only a ceasefire.
