மேற்கு ஆபிரிக்க நாடுகளின் பொருளாதார சமூகம் பதினைந்து மேற்கு ஆபிரிக்க நாடுகளின் பிராந்திய குழு ஆகும். 28 மே 1975 இல் லாகோஸ் ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்திட்டதன் மூலம், அதன் நோக்கம் பிராந்தியத்தில் பொருளாதார ஒருங்கிணைப்பு ஊக்குவிப்பதாகும். ஆபிரிக்க பொருளாதார சமூகத்தின் தூண்களில் ஒன்றாக கருதப்பட்ட இந்த அமைப்பு, ஒரு பொருளாதார வர்த்தக தொழிற்சங்கத்தின் மூலம் ஒரு பெரிய வர்த்தக கூட்டத்தை உருவாக்குவதன் மூலம் அதன் உறுப்பு நாடுகளுக்கு "கூட்டு தன்னிறைவு" அடைவதற்காக நிறுவப்பட்டது. இப்பகுதியில் அமைதிகாக்கும் சக்தியாகவும் இது செயல்படுகிறது. இந்த அமைப்பு மூன்று கூட்டு சம மொழிகளில் பிரெஞ்சு, ஆங்கிலம் மற்றும் போர்த்துகீசிய மொழிகளில் இயங்குகிறது.
