குவாண்டம் செயல்திறன் என்ற காலமானது, ஒளிமின்னல் டிரான்லைட் சாதனத்தின் மாற்றமடைந்த எலக்ட்ரான் விகிதத்திற்கு, பொருந்தக்கூடிய ஒரு சாதனத்தின் சாதனம் அல்லது ஒரு காந்த குகை சந்திவின் TMR விளைவை குறிக்கலாம். சார்ஜ்-இணைந்த சாதனத்தில் இது, ஃபோட்டான்களின் செயல்திறனை சார்ஜ் கேரியர்களால் உற்பத்தி செய்யும் சாதனத்தின் ஒளிச்சேர்க்கை மேற்பரப்பைத் தாக்கும். இது மின்னோட்டத்திற்கான எலக்ட்ரான்களில் ஃபோட்டான் அல்லது ஆம்ப்ஸ் வாட் ஒன்றுக்கு அளவிடப்படுகிறது.
