கணிதத்தில், quaternions சிக்கலான எண்களை விரிவாக்கும் ஒரு எண் அமைப்பு. 1843 இல் ஐரிஷ் கணித வில்லியம் ரோவன் ஹாமில்டன் அவர்களால் முதலில் விவரித்தார் மற்றும் முப்பரிமாண இடைவெளியில் இயந்திரவியல் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
