Acrolith
Bir akrolith, gövde ahşaptan yapılmış bir figürde olduğu gibi taş ve diğer malzemeden yapılmış kompozit bir heykeldir; baş, eller ve ayaklar mermerden yapılır. Ahşap perdelik veya yaldızla gizlendi; sadece mermer parçalar görülebiliyordu. Bu tip heykel klasik antik çağlarda yaygın ve yaygındı. Yunanca'ya bağlı etimoloji: acros and lithos, İngilizce çeviri: "yükseklik" veya "ekstremite" ve "taş". Benzer şekilde, krizantaf tarikatı, mermer yerine fildişi, vücudunun bazı bölümleri ve süslemelerde altın kullandı. Akrolitler genellikle Plataeanların Athene Areia'sı olarak bilinen en iyi bilinen örnek olan Pausanias tarafından belirtilir.
