Akrozom tepkisi
Döllenme sırasında, bir sperm ilk olarak plazma membranı ile kaynaşmalı ve daha sonra döllenmesi için dişi yumurtalara nüfuz etmelidir. Yumurtanın kaynaşması, yumurta kaynaştırması spermlere daha fazla sorun getirirken, yumurta kaynaştırması genellikle çok az sorun oluşturur. Bu nedenle sperm hücreleri, akrozom tepki olarak bilinen, yumurtaya yaklaşırken sperm akrozomunda ortaya çıkan reaksiyon olan bir süreçten geçer. İçeriği, yumurta sert kaplamasını kırmaktan ve gübrelemenin gerçekleşmesine neden olan yüzey antijenleri ve sayısız enzimleri içerir.
