Apomiksis
Botanikte, apomiksis Hans Winkler tarafından normal cinsel çoğalmanın, döllenme olmaksızın eşeyli üreme ile değiştirilmesi olarak tanımlandı. Bu tanım özellikle mayoz bölüşümden bahsetmemektedir. Bu nedenle, bitkilerin kesim veya yapraklardan yayılım gibi "normal eşeysiz üremesi" hiç apomiksis olarak düşünülmemiştir, ancak tohumun bir bitki tarafından değiştirilmesi veya çiçeklerin bulbiller ile değiştirilmesi apomiksis türleridir. Apomik olarak üretilen yavrular genetik olarak ana bitki ile özdeştir. Bazı yazarlar, asemptomatik reproduksiyonun tüm biçimlerini apomiksis içinde bulundular, ancak dönemin genelleşmesi sona ermişti.
