Senna Aleksandrina Senna cinsi süs bitkisidir. Bitki yetiştiriciliğinde kullanılır. Üst Mısır'da, özellikle Nubia bölgesinde ve ticari olarak ekili Hartum'un yakınında doğal olarak yetişir. Ayrıca, başka yerlerde, özellikle Hindistan ve Somali'de yetiştirilmektedir. Alexandrian Senna, dallı, soluk yeşil bir dik kök ve dört ya da beş çift yaprakları olan uzun yayılmakta olan dallarla, nadiren iki, metre yüksekliğinde 0.5-1'e ulaşan kıvırcık bir bitkidir. Bu yapraklar karmaşık, tüylü, karşılıklı çiftleri oluşturur. Broşürler 4 ila 6 çift arasında, tamamen kesilmiş, keskin bir üst ile değişiyor. Ortabekler, broşürün tabanına eşit olarak bölünürler. Çiçekler, içlerinde çiçek açan, büyüklüğünde, sarı renkli kahverengiye eğilimli bir racimedir. Bakla meyvesi boynuzlu, geniş, dikdörtgen, sıkıştırılmış ve düz ve yaklaşık altı tohum içerir. Kültürlendiğinde, bitkiler altı ayda bir kesilir, güneşte kurutulur, soyulur ve palmiye yaprağı poşetlerinde paketlenir. Daha sonra develerden Essouan'a ve Darao'ya, daha sonra Nil'in altından Kahire'ye ya da Kızıl Deniz limanlarına gönderilirler. Örneğin göçebe Ababda için senna ticareti önemli bir gelir kaynağıdır.
