Bir alerjen anormal derecede güçlü bir bağışıklık tepkisi üreten bir antijen türüdür ve bağışıklık sistemi algılanan bir tehdidi savaşır ve vücuda zarar vermez. Bu gibi reaksiyonlara alerji denir.
