Apostazi (/ əpɒstəsi /; Yunanca: ἀποστασία (apostasya), "bir ihlal ya da isyan") bir kişinin bir din tarafından terk edilmesi ya da vazgeçilmesi ya da feragat edilmesidir. Başkaldırı yapan (ya da kime itaat eden) bir mürted olarak bilinir. Başkaldırma terimi, sosyologlar tarafından, bir kişinin eski dini için teknik anlamda ve aşağılayıcı çağrışımdan vazgeçme, eleştirme ya da karşı koyma anlamına gelir. Bu terim, zaman zaman bir siyasi parti, beyin güvenini veya bir spor takımı gibi dini olmayan bir inançtan veya vazgeçmeden feragat etmek için mecazi olarak kullanılır.
