Asepsi
Asepsis, hastalıklara neden olan bulaşmalardan arındırılmış veya mikroorganizmalarla teması önleyen durumdur. Asepsi terimi çoğunlukla, enfeksiyonu önlemek için ameliyat veya tıbbın bir ameliyat alanında asepsi teşvik etmek veya teşvik etmek için kullanılan uygulamaları belirtmektedir. İdeal olarak, cerrahi alan "steril" demektir; sadece hastalığa, kusurlara veya fermantasyona neden olabilenleri değil, tüm biyolojik kirleticilerden arındırılmış değildir, ancak bu özellikle hastanın genellikle bulaşıcı ajanlar kaynağı.
