Bir azotrop, oranları basit damıtma ile değiştirilemeyen iki veya daha fazla sıvının bir karışımıdır. Bu, bir azeotropun kaynatıldığı zaman, buhar, kaynatılmamış karışımla aynı oranlarda bileşen oluşturduğu için olur.
