Biyolojik mühendislik
Biyolojik mühendislik veya biyomühendislik, mühendislik kendi analitik ve sentetik metodolojilerini kullanarak hayat bilimleri veya uygulamayla ilgili gerçek dünya sorunlarını çözmek için biyoloji kavramlarının ve yöntemlerinin uygulanması ve aynı zamanda elde edilen çözümün maliyetine ve pratikliğine olan geleneksel hassasiyetidir en. Bu bağlamda, geleneksel mühendislik, cansız araçları, yapıları ve süreçleri analiz etmek, tasarlamak ve üretmek için fiziksel ve matematiksel bilimleri kullanırken, biyolojik mühendislik, öncelikle canlı organizmaların uygulamalarını incelemek ve ilerletmek için moleküler biyoloji olarak bilinen hızlı gelişen bilgi birimi kullanır. Özellikle önemli bir uygulama, insan sağlığı ile ilgili problemlerin analizi ve maliyet-etkin özümüdür, ancak alan çok daha genel bir konudur. Örneğin, biyomimetik, canlı organizmaların yapı ve işlevlerinin malzeme ve makinelerin tasarımı ve mühendisliği için model olarak kullanılabileceği yollar bulmaya çalışan biyolojik mühendisliğin bir koludur.
