BLUE MOULD SÖZCÜĞÜ İNGILIZCE DİLİNDE NE ANLAMA GELİR?

Mavi küf, tütünün muşırı küf hastalığıdır ve bunun sebebi Peronospora tabacina, yani mantar benzeri bir protist olan Peronosporaceae familyasıdır. Mavi kalıp, dünyanın birçok yerinde duyarlı tütün bitkilerinde ciddi hasara neden olabilir. Zorunlu bir parazit olduğundan, büyümek için canlı tütün dokusuna sahip olmalıdır. Tütün bu hastalığın başlıca ev sahibi olmasına rağmen, biber bitkileri ve patlıcan da dahil olmak üzere diğer ev sahipleri de rezervuar olabilir. Mavi kalıp terimi, Roquefort ve diğer mavi peynirlerde tat ve karakteristik mavi-yeşil kapanımların üretiminde kullanılan bir kalıp olan Penicillium roqueforti'ye de uygulanabilir. Şerbetçiotu bir toz küf hastalığı bazen yanlışlıkla mavi kalıp olarak adlandırılmıştır. Buna Sphaerotheca humuli, Erysiphales sırada bir mantar nedeniyledir. Bu şerbetçiotu hastalığı, 1909'da New York eyalet şerbetçiotu endüstrisinde epidemik hale geldi ve sonunda ABD'nin kuzeydoğusundaki mahsulün terk edilmesine yol açtı.
İngilizce sözlükte blue mould sözcüğünün tanımı
Sözlükte mavi kalıp tanımı da denir: yeşil kalıp. Çürüyen gıda maddeleri, deri vb. üzerinde mavimsi bir kütle oluşturan Penicillium cinsinden herhangi bir mantar. Mavi küfün diğer tanımı, meyve ağaçlarının nekrozu ve etkilenen dokuda mavimsi bir büyüme ile karakterize edilen herhangi bir mantar hastalığıdır; çoğunlukla Penicillium türlerinden kaynaklanır.
