Bir kemik yatağı, herhangi bir türden kemik içeren herhangi bir jeolojik tabaka veya birikintidir. Kuşkusuz, bu tür yataklar doğasında sedimanterdir. Resmi bir terim değil, özellikle yoğun koleksiyonları tanımlamak için daha çok kullanılmış olma eğilimindedir. Sıklıkla osseöz kalıntılar içeren mağaraların tabanındaki breşli ve dikitik çökellere uygulanır. Daha kısıtlı bir anlamda terim, iyi tanımlanmış jeolojik tabakalarda ortaya çıkan kemikli parçacıkların ince ince katmanlarını belirtmek için kullanılır. Bunlardan en tanınmışlarından biri, Üst Ludlow serisinde Downton Kumtaşı tabanında bulunan Ludlow Kemik Yatağı'dır. Ludlow'un kendisinde, yaklaşık 14 ft'lik katmanlarla birbirinden ayrılmış iki yatak vardır. Oldukça ince olmasına rağmen, Ludlow Kemik Yatağı bu şehirden 45 mil uzakta Gloucestershire'ye kadar takip edilebilir. Neredeyse tamamen omurga, diş ve ganoid balı terazilerinden oluşur.
