Kromatografi
Kromatografi, karışımların ayrılması için bir dizi laboratuvar tekniğinin toplu terimidir. Karışım, mobil faz olarak adlandırılan ve sabit faz olarak adlandırılan başka bir malzemeyi tutan bir yapıya taşıyan bir sıvı içinde çözülür. Karışımın çeşitli bileşenleri farklı hızlarda hareket ederek ayrılmalarına neden olur. Ayırma, mobil ve sabit fazlar arasındaki diferansiyel bölünmeye dayanır. Bir bileşiğin bölme katsayısının küçük farkları, durağan fazda diferansiyel retansiyona ve dolayısıyla da ayırımı değiştirmeye neden olur. Kromatografi preparatif veya analitik olabilir. Hazırlayıcı kromatografinin amacı, daha gelişmiş bir kullanım için bir karışımın bileşenlerini ayırmaktır. Analitik kromatografi normal olarak daha az miktarda malzeme ile yapılır ve bir karışımdaki analitlerin göreceli oranlarını ölçmek içindir. İkisi karşılıklı olarak münhasır değildir.
