Comecon
Karşılıklı Ekonomik Yardım Konseyi, 1949-1991 yılları arasında Doğu Bloku ülkeleriyle birlikte dünyanın herhangi bir yerindeki birtakım sosyalist devletlerden oluşan Sovyetler Birliği'nin önderliğindeki ekonomik bir organizasyondur. Comecon, Batı Avrupa'daki Avrupa Ekonomik İşbirliği Teşkilatı'nın kurulmasına Doğu Bloku'nun cevabıydı. Tanımlayıcı terim, Comecon'un ve organlarının doğrudan işlevleriyle sınırlı olmaktan ziyade, örgüt üyeleri ile ilgili olan tüm çok taraflı faaliyetlerde sıklıkla uygulanmıştır. Bu kullanım bazen üyeler arasındaki ikili ilişkilere de genişletildi, zira sosyalist uluslararası ekonomik ilişkiler sisteminde, - genelde genel nitelikte - çok taraflı anlaşmalar, daha ayrıntılı, ikili anlaşmalar seti ile uygulanma eğilimindeydiler. Bazı tarihçilere göre, Moskova Marshall Planı'ndan endişe duyuyordu. Comecon daha sonra Sovyetlerin nüfuz alanındaki ülkelerin Amerikalılara ve Güneydoğu Asya'ya doğru ilerlemelerini önlemeye yönelikti.
