Birden fazla monomer türünden türetilmiş bir polimer. Not: İki monomer türünün kopolimerleştirilmesiyle elde edilen kopolimerler bazen üç monomereterpolimerden elde edilen bipolimerler, dört monomer kuaterpolimerlerden elde edilenler vb. Olarak adlandırılır. Alternatif kopolimerler: Alternatif dizide iki monomerik birim türünü içeren makromoleküllerden oluşan bir kopolimer . Not: Alternatif bir kopolimer örtülü ya da varsayımsal bir monomerden türetilmiş bir homopolimer olarak düşünülebilir. Blok kopolimerleri: Birçok anayasal birimi içeren, bitişik bölümlerde bulunmayan en az bir özelliğe sahip olan bir makromolekülün bir kısmı. Greft macromolecule: Yan zincir olarak ana zincire bağlı bir veya daha fazla tür bloğa sahip bir makromolekül olup, bu yan zincirler, ana zincirden farklı anayasal veya konfigürasyonel özelliklere sahiptir.
