Kurumsal Sosyal Sorumluluk
Kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk, bir iş modeline entegre edilmiş bir kurumsal öz denetim biçimidir. KSS politikası, bir işletmenin yasalar, etik standartlar ve uluslararası normlara uygun hareket etmesini izleyen ve sağlayan bir yerleşik, kendi kendini düzenleyen mekanizması olarak işlev görür. Bazı modellerde, bir firmanın KSS uygulaması uygulanabilirliğin ötesine geçmekte ve "şirketin çıkarlarının ötesinde bir takım sosyal iyiliklerin ve yasaların gerektirdiği eylemlerin" ortaya çıkmasına neden olmaktadır. KSS, çevre, tüketiciler, çalışanlar, topluluklar, menfaat sahipleri ve paydaş sayılabilecek diğer kamusal alan üyeleri hakkındaki faaliyetleri ile şirketin eylemleri için sorumluluk almaya ve olumlu etkileri teşvik etmeyi amaçlayan bir süreçtir. "Kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk" terimi 1960'lı yıllarda popülerleşti ve birçok kişi tarafından daha dar anlamıyla anlaşılan hukuki ve ahlaki sorumluluğu kapsayan bir terim olarak kaldı. Destekçiler, şirketlerin bir perspektifle çalışarak daha uzun vadeli kazançlar elde ettiğini savunurken, eleştirmenler KSS'nin işletmelerin ekonomik rolünden rahatsız olduğunu ileri sürüyor.
