Kortizon
Kortizon, 21 karbonlu bir steroid hormondur. Adrenal bezin strese tepki olarak saldığı ana hormondan biridir. Kimyasal yapıda, kortizol ile yakından ilgili olan bir kortikosteroiddir. Hastalıkların, çeşitli tedavi etmek için kullanılır ve damar içine, oral olarak, intraartiküler, veya transkütan uygulanabilir. Kortizon ve böylece iltihap ve buna eşlik eden ağrı azaltma ve yaralanma yerinde şişme, bağışıklık sistemini bastırır. Özellikle uzun vadede kortizon kullanımında riskler mevcuttur.
