Transdüksiyon (genetik)
Transdüksiyon, DNA'nın bir virüs tarafından bir bakteriden diğerine aktarılması işlemidir. Aynı zamanda, yabancı DNA'nın bir viral vektör vasıtasıyla başka bir hücrenin içine sokulması işlemine değinmektedir. Transdüksiyon, DNA'yı bağlayan hücre ile DNA'yı alan hücre arasında fiziksel temas gerektirmez ve DNaza dirençlidir. Transdüksiyon, konakçı bir hücrenin genomuna yabancı bir gen istikrarlı bir şekilde girmek için moleküler biyologlar tarafından kullanılan yaygın bir araçtır. Bakteriyofajlar bir bakteri hücresine enfekte olduklarında normal üreme biçimleri konakçı bakteri hücresinin replikasyon, transkripsiyon ve translasyon mekanizmalarını kullanarak viral DNA veya RNA ve protein katını içeren çok sayıda virion veya komple viral partiküller yapmaktır.
