Cushitic dilleri Afrika'nın Boynuzu'nda, ayrıca Nil Vadisi'nde ve Afrika'da Büyük Göller bölgesinin bir bölümünde konuşulan Afro-Asya dil ailesinin bir dalıdır. Şube, geleneksel olarak 947 CE gibi bu spesifik dillerin konuşmacılarının atası olarak tanımlanan İncil karakter Cush'dan alınıyor. En kalabalık Cushitic dili Oromo, yaklaşık 35 milyon konuşmacıya ve yaklaşık 18 milyon konuşmacıya Somali'yi ve yaklaşık 3 milyon konuşan Sidamo'yu izlemektedir. Bir milyondan fazla konuşmacıya sahip diğer Cushitic dil Afar ve Beja'dır. Somali'nin resmi dillerinden biri olan Somali, herhangi bir ülkede resmi statüye sahip olan tek Cushitic dil. Aynı zamanda Cibuti'nin tanınmış ulusal dillerinden biri, diğeri Afar.
