Jean le Rond d'Alembert
Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert, Fransız bir matematikçi, mekanisyen, fizikçi, filozof ve müzik teorisyendi. 1759 yılına kadar Encyclopédie Denis Diderot'un editörlüğünü yapıyordu. D'Alembert'in dalga denklemine çözüm bulma formülü ona peşinden koşar. Dalga denklemi bazen d'Alembert denklemi olarak ifade edilir.
