Metasequoia glyptostroboides, şafak kırmızı taht, hızla büyüyen, nesli tükenmekte olan, ikincisi ise Sequoioideae alt familyasında yer alan üç türden biri olan Metasequoia'nın yaşayan canlı türü olan iğne yapraklı ağaçtır. Çin'in Sichuan-Hubei bölgesindendir. Kırmızı ağaçların en kısa olmasına rağmen, en az 200 fit yüksekliğe kadar büyür. Metasequoia glyptostroboides bonsai tree Yerel köylüler, çoğu diğerlerinin Shui-shan suızları veya yerel tapınağın bir parçası olan "su fındığı" olarak türettiği orijinal ağaca atıfta bulunurlar.
