Decerebration
Dekerebrasyon, bir hayvanda serebrumun çıkarılması, beyin sapının kesilmesi veya beyin sapındaki belli arterlerin kesilmesi yoluyla serebral beyin fonksiyonunun ortadan kaldırılmasıdır. Dekerebrasyon, deney hayvanlarında beynin farklı bölümlerinde sinir ekseni boyunca bağlanmayı tarif eder. Genellikle düşük dekerebralasyon, orta dekerebrasyon ve üst dekerebrasyon. Sonuç olarak hayvan beynin farklı bölümlerine entegre olan bazı refleksleri yok eder. Üstelik, işlevsel olan refleksler, yüksek beyin merkezlerini inhibe etmenin kaldırılması nedeniyle hiperreaktif olacaktır. Düşük serebralizasyon bir "Bulbospinal" hayvana yol açar: Omurilikte ve medulla oblongata içine entegre refleksler işlevseldir, orta beyinde ve kortekste bütünleştirilmiş refleksler yoktur. En göze çarpan vurgu tonik labirent reflekslerinde görülür, otolitik organlar vücuda uygulanan yerçekimi kuvveti girişine aracılık eder ve labirent refleksi bu çekim kuvvetine direnmek için ekstansör kaslara etki eder.
