Defeminization
Defensinizasyon, gelişimsel biyolojide, özellikle de zoolojide, cinsiyete dayalı farklılaşmanın bir yönüne atıfta bulunan, potansiyel bir kadına özgü yapının, işlevin veya davranışın erkek gelişimi süreçlerinden biri tarafından geliştirilmesini önleyen bir terimdir. Terim, kadın özelliklerinin "ortadan kaldırılması" anlamına gelse de, hemen hemen tüm biyolojik bağlamlarda, kadın gelişiminin bir yönünün tezahür etmesini önlemeye atıfta bulunduğu anlamına gelir. Cinsiyetin insan biyolojisinde, bunun en bilinen örneği, fetal gelişimin 3. ve 4. aylarında müllerian kanal türevlerinin anti-müllerian hormon tarafından gelişiminin önlenmesidir, ancak terim insan gelişimindeki tartışmalarda yaygın olarak kullanılmamaktadır. Bir dizi insan dışı memelide, testisler tarafından üretilen hormonların, özellikle kadın üreme davranışları olmak üzere kadın özelliklerinin gelişmesini önlemek için beynin üzerinde doğrudan hareket ettiğine dair kanıtlar vardır.
