Depolimerizasyon, bir polimerin bir monomer veya bir monomer karışımı haline dönüştürülmesi işlemidir. Tioglikoliz, tioliz ve floroglikülkoliz, yoğunlaştırılmış taninlerin depolimerizasyonu yoluyla incelenmesi için kullanılan reaksiyonlardır. Tioglikoliz, lignini incelemek için de kullanılır.
