Depside
Bir depresyon, bir ester bağı ile bağlanmış iki veya daha fazla monosiklik aromatik birimden oluşan bir polifenolik bileşik türünü belirtir. Depsides en sık olarak likenlerde bulunur fakat aynı zamanda Ericaceae, Lamiaceae, Papaveraceae ve Myrtaceae türleri dahil yüksek bitkilerden de izole edilmiştir. Vesikalıkların antibiyotik, anti-HIV, antioksidan ve anti-proliferatif etkinliği vardır. Prostaglandin sentezi ve lökotrien B4 biyosentezinin önleyicileri olarak, deppsitler güçlü non-steroid anti-inflamatuarlardır. Bir depsidaz, bağları koparan bir enzim türüdür. Böyle bir enzim tanen'dir. Liken Cryptothecia rubrocincta'da bulunan jiroforik asit, bir sakatlıktır.
