Didaktizm, edebiyatta ve diğer sanat türlerinde öğretimsel ve bilgilendirici nitelikleri vurgulayan bir felsefedir. Terim kökeni Antik Yunanca "Eğitim ve Öğretimle İlgili" διδακτικός sözcüğündedir ve büyüleyici ve ilginç bir şekilde öğrenmeyi temsil eder. Didaktik sanat eğlendirmek ve öğretmek demekti. Örneğin, didaktik oyunlar, ahlaki bir temayı veya diğer zengin gerçeği izleyiciye iletmeyi amaçladı.
