Eko sondajı ses darbelerini suya ileterek su derinliğini belirlemek için kullanılan bir SONAR türüdür. Emisyon ve bir darbenin geri dönüşü arasındaki zaman aralığı, o sırada sudaki ses hızı ile birlikte su derinliğini belirlemek için kullanılır.
