İletişim ve bilgi işlemede, kod, bir harf, kelime, ses, görüntü ya da jest gibi bilgileri bir ortamdaki bir kanal ya da depolama yoluyla iletişim için bazen kısaltılmış ya da gizli form haline getiren kurallar sistemidir . Erken bir örnek buluş dilidir ve bu, konuşma yoluyla bir kişinin gördüklerini, duyduklarını, hissettiklerini veya düşündüklerini başkalarına iletebilmelerini mümkün kılmıştır.
