Ekonomi, oyun teorisi ve karar teorisinde, beklenen fayda hipotezi, belirsiz sonuçları olan seçimlerle ilgili insanların tercihlerine ilişkin bir hipoteze atıfta bulunur. Bu hipotez, belirli aksiyomlar yerine getirilirse, bireyin kumarla ilişkili öznel değeri, o kişinin kumarın sonuçlarını değerlendirmesinin istatistiksel beklentisidir.
