Extraposition
Ekstrapozisyon, kelime sırasını, görece "ağır" bir bileşen, kanonik pozisyonun sağında görülecek şekilde değiştiren bir sözdizimi mekanizmasıdır. Bir bileşenin ekstre edilmesi bir süreksizlikle sonuçlanır ve bu bağlamda, bir süreksizlik oluşturmayan, kaymanın aksine. Taktik edilen kurucu, valisine domine eden bir veya daha fazla kelime ile validen ayrılır. Teorik sözdiziminde iki tür ekstrapozisyon kabul edilmektedir: ekstrapozisyonun isteğe bağlı olduğu standart durumlarda ve ek istasyonun zorunlu olduğu durumlarda ekstrapozisyon. Uzatma kısmen, sağa dallanma oranını arttırarak merkezin gömülmesini azaltma arzusuyla motive edilir ve bu nedenle işlemeyi kolaylaştırır; merkeze gömülü yapılar işlenmesi daha zor olur. Ekleme, İngilizce ve ilgili dillerde sıklıkla oluşur.
