Alev hücresi
Bir alev hücresi, en basit tatlı su omurgasızlarında bulunan, düz kurtçuklar, rotiferler ve adacıklar bulunan özel bir boşaltım hücresidir; Bunlar, boşaltma sistemine sahip en basit hayvanlardır. Alev hücreleri, böbrek gibi işlev görerek atık maddeleri kaldırırlar. Alev hücrelerinin paketi, protonefridya olarak adlandırılır. Alev hücresi, fincanın iç yüzeyini kaplayan fermuarla "kupa şeklindeki" bir projeksiyona sahip çekirdekli bir hücre gövdesine sahiptir. Bu flamalıların dayak sesleri bir alevi andırarak hücrenin adını verir. Bardak, boru hücresine sıvının hareket etmesine yardımcı olan, iç yüzeyi aynalı olarak kaplanan bir tüp hücresine yapıştırılmıştır. Tüp dışarıdan bir nefroporu veya trematoda bir boşaltma mesanesine açılır. Bu hücrelerin işlevi solucanın ozmotik basıncını düzenlemek ve iyonik dengesini korumaktır. Boru hücresindeki mikro viller bazı iyonları tekrar emmek için kullanılabilir.
