Flushwork
Mimaride, taşkömürü, çakmak taşı ve kesme taşla aynı düzlemdeki dekoratif kombinasyondur. Taş düz bir çakmak taşı duvarından projeliyse, taş duvara "sıçratmak" yerine taş "gururlu" durduğu için gurur vericidir. Gömme binalar İngiliz Gotik mimarisinin Dik tarzına ait. Güney İngiltere'nin bazı kesimlerinde, özellikle Doğu Anglia'da, ortaçağ binalarının dış duvarlarının - ki kurtulanların çoğunun kilisesi - olduğu özellikleri var. Yıkama, 14. yüzyılın başlarında başlar, ancak tepe dönem yaklaşık 1450 yılları arasındaki yün patlaması sırasında ve 1520'lerin İngiliz Reformasyonu sırasında kilise binası neredeyse kesildiğinde ve tuğla inşaatının daha şık hale geldiği zamandır.
