Gestapo (Alman telaffuz: (dinle), Geheime Staatspolizei'nin kısaltması, "Gizli Devlet Polisi"), Nazi Almanyası ve Alman işgal altındaki Avrupa'nın resmi gizli polisiydi. Hermann Göring birimi 1933'de kurdu. 20 Nisan 1934'ten itibaren SS genel sorumlusu Heinrich Himmler yönetiminde idi. 1936'da Hitler tarafından Alman Polis Şefi (Chef der Deutschen Polizei) atandı. 1936'da Himmler, onu Sicherheitspolizei'nin (SiPo) bir suboffice'i haline getirdi ("Güvenlik Polisi").
