Pluvialis, ılıman ya da Arctic Northern Hemisphere'de üreyen dört türden oluşan kuşlardan oluşan bir kuş türüdür. Damızlık tüylerinde, hepsinin büyük ölçüde siyah alt kısımları ve altın veya gümüşsü üst kısımları var. Göreceli olarak kısa vadeli faturaları vardır ve habitata bağlı olarak başta diğer böcek gruplarının istikrarlı problanması yerine, çalışma ve duraklama tekniği ile elde edilen böcekler, solucanlar veya diğer omurgasız hayvanlar üzerinde beslenirler. Uzun faturalandırılmış tüfekler gibi hissederek değil, görünüşe göre avlanırlar.
