Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (Rusça: Михаил Сергеевич Горбачёв, tr Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachyov, IPA: (dinle), 2 Mart 1931'de doğmuş) eski bir Sovyet devlet adamıdır. 1985'ten 1991'e kadar Sovyetler Birliği Komünist Partisi Genel Sekreteri ve 1988'den 1991'de dağılıncaya kadar devlet başkanı olarak görev yapan Sovyetler Birliği'nin yedinci ve son lideri idi. 1989'dan 1990'a kadar Yüksek Sovyet Başkanı, 1990-1990 arasında Sovyetler Birliği Başkanı olarak 1988'den 1989'a kadar Üst Sovyet Başkanlığı). Ekim Devriminden sonra Sovyetler Birliği tarihinde doğan tek genel sekreterdi. Gorbaçov Stavropol Krai'de bir köylü Ukraynalı-Rus ailesinde dünyaya geldi ve gençler arasında toplu çiftliklerde biçerdöverler işletti. 1955 yılında Moskova Devlet Üniversitesi'nden mezun oldu.
