Gotha, Erfurt'un 20 kilometre batısında, Eisenach'ın 25 km doğusunda 44.000 nüfusu ile Almanya'nın Thuringia kentinde beşinci büyük kenttir. Şehir, Gotha bölgesinin başkenti ve aynı zamanda Ernestina Wettins'in ikametgahıydı ve 1640'dan 1918'de Almanya'da monarşinin sonuna kadar vardı. Saxe-Coburg ve Gotha'nın evleri burada doğan kraliyet evleri de dahil olmak üzere birçok Avrupa hükümdarı üretti.
