Hacktivism
Hacktivism, siyasal amaçları, başta özgürce konuşma, insan hakları ve bilgi etiği olmak üzere bilgisayarların ve bilgisayar ağlarının kullanılmasıdır. Teknolojinin doğru kullanılması, geleneksel protesto hareketi, aktivizm ve sivil itaatsizliğe benzer sonuçlara yol açabileceği önermesi altında gerçekleştirilir. Terim, en azından Kasım 1995'ten beri kullanılmaktadır, ancak önceki hesaplar, terimin 1996'da "Omega" olarak bilinen Ölü İnek üyesi bir kültü tarafından üretildiğini yanlış bir şekilde iddia etmiştir. Ancak köklü sözcük kesmek gibi, saldırı davranışı belirsiz bir terimdir. Hacktivizm ve hacktivist terimleri, onları tanımlamak için sözsel savaş konusu. Bu terimlerin bazı tanımlamaları arasında siber terörizm eylemleri yer alırken, diğerleri ise toplumsal değişimi etkilemek için teknoloji hackingi kullanmaktan vazgeçerler.
