Leontodon, Asteraceae ailesindeki karanfil benzeri bitkilerden bir cins, genellikle şahit olarak bilinir. İngiliz ismi, şahinlerin gözlerini iyileştirmek için bitkiyi yediği ortaçağda yaşayan inancından kaynaklanmaktadır. Başlangıçta sadece Avrasya ve Kuzey Afrika'ya özgü olmasına rağmen, bazı türler o zamandan beri Birleşik Devletler ve Yeni Zelanda dahil olmak üzere diğer ülkelerde kurulmuştur. Son araştırmalar, geleneksel sınırlamada Leontodon cinsinin polifiletik olduğunu göstermiştir. Bu nedenle, eski Leontodon altıncı Oporinia genel seviyeye yükseltildi. Adlandırma kurallarına göre, Scorzoneroides adı genel seviyede öncelik taşıdı ve bu nedenle Leontodon subjeni Oporinia üyeleri, yeniden kurulan cins Scorzoneroides'e geçti.
