Kermesse ya da kermess, bir kilisenin kuruluş yıldönümünde ve patronun onuruna değinilen kitlenin orijinali olarak İngilizce ve Fransızca olarak ödünç alınan "kerk" ve "mis" den türetilen Hollandaca bir dil terimidir . Bu tür kutlamalar, Düşük Ülke'de ve ayrıca Kuzey Fransa'da düzenli olarak düzenlendi ve her şenlik, dans ve spor eşlik etti.
