Mendicant, mendicancy uygulayan ve hayatta kalabilmek için başta veya münhasıran hayırsever bağışlara dayanan bir kişidir. İlke olarak, menejer dini emirler münferit ya da toplu olarak mülkiyete sahip değildir ve üyeler, tüm zaman ve enerjilerinin yoksulları uygulama ya da vaaz verme ve sunma konularında harcanabilecekleri bir yoksulluk yemini etmiştir.
