Metodist hareket, ilhamını John Wesley'in yaşamından ve öğretilerinden türetilen Protestan Hıristiyanlığın tarihsel olarak bağlantılı bir gruptur. George Whitefield ve John'un kardeşi Charles Wesley de hareket konusunda önemli liderlerdi.
