Geleneksel olarak, ayakkabılar deri, ahşap veya tuvalden yapılmış ancak giderek kauçuk, plastikler ve diğer petrokimyasal türevli malzemelerden yapılmıştır. Ayağın vücudun diğer herhangi bir bölümünden daha fazla kemik içermesi.
