Mevlevi (İslam unvanı)
Mevlevi, Sünni Müslüman din bilimcilerine veya Ulema'ya, Maulana, Molla veya Şeyh başlıklarına benzer şekilde isimlerinin öncesinde verilen namuslu bir İslam dini unvandır. Mevlevi genelde oldukça nitelikli İslam alimi demektir. Genellikle, bir Maulvi madrassa ya da Darul Uloom'da tam eğitim bitirmiş olurdu. İran, Afganistan, Orta Asya, Güney Asya, Güney Doğu Asya ve Doğu Afrika dahil olmak üzere Farsça yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Mevlevi / Maulvi kelimesi, "efendi" veya "efendisi" anlamına gelen Arapça "Mawla" kelimesinden türemiştir. Tasavvuf Türk Mevlevi Üyeliği, Konya'da, Anadolu'da, Flaman Sufi şairi Celal ad-Din ar-Rumi tarafından kurulmuş ve halkı unvanı düzene adını vermiştir. Anadolu'da yaygınlaşan düzen, 15. yüzyılda Konya ve çevreyi denetledi ve 17. yüzyılda İstanbul'da ortaya çıktı.
