Birincil narsisizm veya sağlıklı kendini sevme anlamı haricinde, narsisizm genellikle bir kişi veya grubun kendilik ve başkalarıyla olan ilişkilerinde bir sorun olarak düşünülür. Narsisizm benocentrismeyle aynı değildir.
